IL Bellagio – West Palm Beach

The Owners of the existing IL Bellagio restaurant saw an opportunity to relocate to a larger space in the same complex. The previous retail tenant had not extended their lease and relocating to the 8,924 square foot space was in an ideal location. The restaurant could be assessed from the main parking garage or thru the fountain / courtyard area. The primary goals for the project consisted of bringing the outdoors in and it is reflected by the use of natural colors, woods, stones, trees and scenes from nature. As the patrons enter into the space they are immediately focused in on what the space offers beyond the great aromas emanating from the open kitchen. 

The materials and finishes that were selected to establish a sense of earthly comfort without being stuffy. As you enter, your eyes are drawn by the crossing of wood beams suspended from the darkly painted deck above.  The beams frame the trees which are incorporated into the curved banquette seating. On each side of the main dining area, two private dining rooms were created further enhancing the dining experience. A communal table is constructed of a white oak irregularly shaped top on black metal legs. Suspended overhead are pendant mounted wicker light fixtures. The main inside / outside bar further extends the interior to the exterior containing motorized folding windows for outside service. The bar top is a white porcelain with green streaks that correlates with the fabrics / materials used for the dining chairs and banquette seating. Suspended above the bar is a black metal framed rack that is illuminated displaying products, glassware and TV monitors.

Materials and finishes were selected to reinforce the “natural” experience and even the product names are consistent with the concept. “Shade of White” (paint), Witty Green” (paint), “Birch Forrest / Summer” (wallcovering), “Lovebird” (paint), Calacatta Green (porcelain), and “Emerald” (mosaic tile).

Decorative lighting was used in many forms and shapes to enhance the environment. They included  the gooseneck wall mounted exterior lights, frosted glass bubble chandeliers, Iron / toughened glass table lamps, mobile chandeliers, brass / glass sconces, concealed led lighting and an illuminated bar front.

The ambiance that was created with all the various elements allows ones visual senses to be entertained which is a key part of the dining experience.
